Campaign Resources

A number of outreach and media resources support participation in the national outreach campaign – whether by targeted constituencies or broad-based audiences.

  • Community Resource Guide

A community resource guide supports interfaith dialogue about PRAYER IN AMERICA and its themes. The guide provides separate sections for screening/discussion events and facilitated workshops to support these different levels of station and community outreach activities. Partial content includes: interfaith dialogue/engagement tips; articles and essays, glossary of terms; discussion/workshop module for each theme; survey/evaluation form; strategies; and resources.

  • One Nation Under God: The History of Prayer in America

The outreach campaign will distribute limited copies of James P. Moore, Jr.'s book, One Nation Under God: The History of Prayer in America, which inspired the development of PRAYER IN AMERICA. In this highly original approach to the history of the United States, Jim Moore focuses on the extraordinary role that prayer has played in every area of American life, from the time of the first settlers to the present day and beyond. The book is also available on an abridged compact disc. The book is published by Doubleday and the audio book by Random House. A two-CD companion to the book, The Many Voices of One Nation Under God compiles some of the most important music written and recorded to illustrate the history of prayer in America. The music CDs are produced by PBA Music Publishing.
