About the Production

PRAYER IN AMERICA is a production of The Duncan Group, Inc. Based in America’s heartland, The Duncan Group has been producing long-form nonfiction programming for national and international broadcast since 1984. The veteran staff has a background in broadcast journalism with an emphasis on conservation, history, adventure, spiritual, and social issue programming. Company president, Chip Duncan, has also been involved extensively in the development and production of feature films. The mission of The Duncan Group is to create high quality, multicultural, nonfiction programming for broadcast television, large format venues, theatrical release, home video, Internet, and classroom education markets around the world. It is our intention to pursue stories objectively; to execute the highest possible standards artistically, creatively, and technically; to entertain and educate viewers; and, when possible, to effect change in a positive way.

PRAYER IN AMERICA was written by Chip Duncan, Patricia Ostermick and Alison Rostankowski. Duncan is also the film’s director.  Bob Huck is a co-producer and supervisor of post production.  Tim Hiller and James P. Moore, Jr. are consulting producers. Peter Buffett is the composer of the original score.  The score also includes music from David Goodrich and performances by Davell Crawford and Gary Brown, as well as The Masonic Wonders.

The Duncan Group’s previous public television documentaries include Wisconsin: An American Portrait, Rafting Alaska’s Wildest Rivers, The Magic Never Ends - The Life & Work of CS Lewis, Beyond the Gridiron - The Life & Times of Woody Hayes, In A Just World - Contraception, Abortion & World Religion, Through One City’s Eyes, and The Cost of Freedom - Security, Civil Liberty and the USA Patriot Act. The company also produced Mystic Lands, a 13-part series on spiritual places of the world. Mystic Lands has aired in more than 100 countries worldwide including broadcasts in the U.S. on TLC and the Travel Channel.

In addition to PRAYER IN AMERICA, The Duncan Group is currently completing a public television documentary called Myth, Imagination & Faith for an anticipated 2008 broadcast and is in production on a one-hour public television biography on Herbert Hoover. Myth, Imagination & Faith is being produced in association with Crouse Entertainment Group and presented by Iowa Public Television. The untitled Herbert Hoover bio is a co-production with Stamats Communications and will be presented by Iowa Public Television.

The Duncan Group projects in active development include The Milwaukee Poverty Initiative, Rwanda: Genocide, Reconciliation & Hope, and an untitled project on human anatomy.
