Prayer and Healing
EEP54@comcast.net wrote to us and said, “It would be interesting to find out if people pray for healing and if they believe that people should pray for that. I know that people see me in my wheelchair and assume that I’m not healed. But one of my favorite things to say is that if God healed my legs and not my heart, it wouldn’t really matter.”
What are your thoughts on prayer and healing? Does prayer influence one’s spiritual, emotional, and physical health? What about praying for the nation, or praying on behalf of someone or something else?
Dr. Wendy Cadge, profiled in PRAYER IN AMERICA, contributed an essay titled, Prayer, Health, and Healing, in which she discusses the effects of intercessory prayer on healing the sick. Anecdotally, people of faith believe that prayer can bring about healing. But, recent research on the topic contradicts these claims. What are your thoughts?

I THINK PRAYER FOR HEALING HELPS AND BRINGS ABOUT ACTUAL HEALING. I THINK ALSO WE AS AMERICANS SHOULD DEVOTE TIME TO PRAYER TO HELP THE WEAK IN OUR COMMUNITIES. ALSO MAKE A PHYSICAL EFFORT TO HELP THEM IF WE CAN. BLESS GOD IN DOING SO AND GOD BLESS YOU!

In my prayers, I pray for healing. As a Christian I believe the bible teaches that prayer should be a part of our daily lives (St. Luke 18.1). Philippians 4.6 (KJV)- Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. I seek to pray not just for healing but for all aspects of life, family, our leaders, our nation, the church, people in general.
