Prayer is my way of getting an answer to some concerns that I have no reason or answer at the time the thought or question is asked.

Praying and believing in a god is exercising the same mental processes that children utilize when they create imaginary playmates, with the exercising guided by the suggestions and instructions implanted in them by their shaman or priest or rabbi or preacher or mullah. It insures deeper belief in bad beliefs.

When you pray, be happy and quote the Bible, just as Jesus did. When he was in the pits of the earth with Satan, Jesus said, “As it is written, you shall not tempt the Lord thy God.”

Prayer is for me a gift, a fantastic opportunity to have a conversation with the living God…I’m blown away that little old me can speak personally, intimately, with the creator of all there is, that the Lord wants this interaction with us all, no one has status over another. He wants to hear from you and me — simply AWESOME. Very often I take this fact for granted. Very often I take him for granted…Prayer is a two-sided coin. It works both ways. Speaking to God helps us to better understand our position in relation to Him and ground us in the truth of who we are and whose we are… Man can not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD….Prayer is food for the Soul when all else leaves you starving for what’s not on any Menu!!

Prayer is having a conversation with God. Just like any conversation, it involves talking and listening. Prayer is vitally important to the human spirit. With it, we grow stronger in faith and love. It is a means of casting a light on our souls to show us where change in ourselves need to be made. Prayer is beautiful, rewarding, and calming.
Prayer is precious and intimate. Prayer is like a small child climbing into the lap of their parent in order to be held in loving security.

Prayer is what I have used when nothing else works. I am ashamed to admit that I use God as I do. He is always right beside me. Prayer and belief that God will answer your problem in his own way is by faith. You just have to believe that his answer is the right way.
Prayer for our America is needed badly. Our country’s open door policy has changed the landscape of who we are. Our jobs are being OUTSOURCED to other countries.
Pray that this does not happen-Our companies are having to close and send their jobs to another countries.
Pray that this does not happen-Our people are homeless and we send money to other countries for aid.
Pray that this does not happen-The other side of the coin; we are letting other (countries’)aliens come to our country and take what jobs that are left and not requiring them to pay taxes.
Pray that this does not happen-Yet, they can apply for Social Security Benefits that they or none of their families have ever paid money into the system.
Our forefathers and fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles have built up the Social Security with their tax money to be used when they are old. For most, it is the only form of retirement they will have. It is being given to aliens because it seems they have more rights than regular U.S. citizens. PRAY FOR AMERICA.
IF ANYONE wants to work and live in America, they should have to pay all taxes on pay, homes, cars, etc that we as Americans pay for them to enjoy the benefits. It does not matter if they are a legal resident or not. PRAY FOR AMERICA that this happens.
There should be a stipulation that after 5 years of living and working in the U.S. states AND PAYING TAXES, aliens should be allowed to apply for citizenship and then be granted all the rights and responsibilites of all citizens.
If after 5 years, they fail to become citizens, then they and their entire family memebers should be returned to their native country.
PRAY FOR AMERICA that this does happen.
Pray to God that our Senators, Congressmen, President, Top Company officials, and every-day AMERICANS will stand up as the Pakistanians, Chinese, and Countries in South America are doing.
God is a good god, but he will not help those who do not help themselves. Pray for strength, character, and knowledge to help America reach these goals in whatever way we need to do so.
If you want America to be FREE 50 years from now as it is today, Please Pray For a “FREE AMERICA”.
THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Prayer is a gift
we both give & receive
Prayer gives a lift
that helps us believe
Prayer sings in our hearts
and rings through our minds
Prayer addresses our fears
enlivens our joy
and releases our tears
However we live, whatever we say,
I am always glad we are able to pray.

Prayer expresses my dependence on God. It provides communion with my Creator and as a result, a peace that passes understanding. Prayer confirms my faith in Christ and increases that faith the more I call on Him in prayer.
My prayers include praise to Christ for who He is; requests for needs in my life and others; and gratefulness for His abiding love in my life.
Thank you for this forum and website.
I suppose my favorite prayer would be when Jesus prayed in John 17 - WOW…and he continues to pray for us today! What a Savior!

Prayer is openness to the “Other”, in whatever form that openness may take and however we may conceive of the “Other”.

I am a Roman Catholic, so I would have to describe what prayer is to me as one.
Prayer is life, Life is prayer. Each and every moment, although we may fail, we are called to be in communion with God. We do this by both a conscious and unconscious way. Each and every soul we encounter we are called to help that soul reach Heaven. We are a (should be) a Reflection of God. To me Prayer is Life, and about True Life , where we are all headed. Each day we are one step closer and with prayer we can illuminate the way for ourselves and our brothers and sister. God is present and is our ultimate destination I would say that “Our ticket for the trip, is prayer!”
I would like to bring your attention to a young female singer songwriter from Boston MA whose hit, “Two Tablets ” was written in defense of The Ten Commandments Monument and Chief Justice Moore’s heroic battle to defend them. Monica Ursino states that music is the language of the youth, and Monica uses her music as a form of prayer, thankgsiving, such as “The Way”, and “Reflection”..all about God
I think she should be noticed and appreciated for her love of God, His people and her ecumenical ways of bringing the youth together…Through prayer she found her “Way” back to God..Please visit @www.monicaursino.com,

Prayer for me is the master key to the inner courtyards of heaven, a place where I can glorify my creator & ask for constant replenishment of guidance, affirmation, peace and the endless source of love.
My favorite prayer has to be
Psalm 23- A psalm of David
“The Good Shepherd”
You, LORD, are my shepherd.
I will never be in need.
You let me rest in fields
of green grass.
You lead me to streams
of peaceful water, and you refresh my life.
You are true to your name, and you lead me along the right paths.
I may walk through valleys as dark as death, but I won’t be afraid.
You are with me,and your shepherd’s rod makes me feel safe.
You treat me to a feast, while my enemies watch.
You honor me as your guest, and you fill my cup until it overflows.
Your kindness and love will always be with me each day of my life, and I will live forever in your house, LORD.
Thank you for this forum and thank GOD for our freedom of speech and religion.
May your efforts be blessed and may GOD be glorified through your great works.
Whether praying outloud or silently, listening to, or reading prayer, it is the umbilical cord to God, for me. It is a way to ask for strength, or tolerance, or love and patience; It is a way to ask for others, and for our world,a more peaceful place. It is a way to serve and honor God, to continue a path of rightousness, to alleviate fear. It is place of comfort and trust, a way to ask forgiveness. Prayer confirms my Christianity, my ability to be a loving child of God, and directs me to the priorities of living.
One of my favorite prayers is the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept what I cannot change, courage to change what I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Prayer is faith. It can take many forms, but always provides serenity, no matter what turmoil surrounds me. Not only do I receive when I pray, I receive the ability to give. As a R.N. for 29 yrs. and the last 9 yrs working in hospice, I have witnessed the ultimate power of prayer. The mother of a 15 year-old boy who died in her arms told me about her prayer that had been repeated since the onset of his illness: “Why God ? Why?”. She said she received the answer, that night; That there was NO answer, only the love. Perhaps there is no answer to define what prayer is to an individual. “Wisdom is the ability to see the miraculous in the commonplace.”
Thank you for this opportunity to think and verbalize my beliefs.
